Harmonious Crazy

So here we're awaiting the Holidays. Preppin' for the season because 'Tis The Season once again. Season of cheer, hustle and bustle. Season of spending, sharing, giving, and joy. Are you a spender? Big spender? Well...some of us are. I'm not a big spender, although I could become one if I put my mind to it. But most of the time I think along the lines of economical, sometimes downright frugal. Frugal as in do-it-yourself kind of spender.

During this season of baking and making, buying and decorating it feels like from October till the new year all we do is buy buy buy and spend spend spend. Rush rush rush...

But do we take time for ourselves, our families? Do we find the time to spend with them not just on Thanksgiving evening or Christmas morning? Do we slow down to make memories with ones with love even during the prepping time going towards the holidays? How about more of that?

Well, how about making something together? I don't mean brownies, although nothing against brownies if that's what you like. Maybe a craft, a thing, a decoration? Something that you'll save and not eat up and then display again next year or for years to come or give away as a present... You're not a Crafty Beaver, you say? Don't have to be. I didn't go to a crafty beaver trade school either, I just make things as I get in the mood. Crafty mood. Try it! And if your family isn't up for joining you, go solo. Believe me, it's also therapeutic. And yes, counts as time for yourself.

I think it'd be fun to see what you guys make during this preppin'-for-the-holidays time. I'll leave the "comments on" if you'd like to share your ideas. I'll be sharing my DIYs in blog posts to come. Some will be holiday-related and some won't. But hey, any project that's handmade is special, original, one of a kind and most likely adds to the home, your life, experiences we live and memories we get to make.

My wish for you is not to lose yourself this crazy busy holiday season. I wish you not just give, give, give of yourself, but also take. Take time for yourself, your family, your kids. Don't create stress, create memories. Make sure it's not the season of craziness, but the season of joy!

Happy Holidays!
